I’ve written food and drink content for nearly every outlet I’ve worked for. It’s the work I’m most proud of as a writer, and a vertical I wish to pursue for the rest of my career.

My favorite part of visiting a new place isinking my teeth into the local cuisine. I’ve always loved how a location’s landscape and people are deeply intertwined with history and food. I’m eager to further explore the ways food and travel intersect for future assignments.

I’ve assisted with social media for various outlets and companies, including NJ Family, Taste Talks, W.W. Norton, and Split Oak Press (an independent publisher). Currently, I’m the social media manager for three New Jersey restaurants and run two personal food accounts.
@cookingwithpire
This Instagram food blog is my first shot at running an independent foodie account. While it’s still a work in progress, it inspires me to cook (as opposed to just eat), try new recipes, and experiment with food photography, styling, branding, and developing a personal voice.
@recetasdemimi
As a passion project for PureWow, I cooked some of my abuelita’s signature dishes and documented the journey on TikTok. I wrote about the experience here.
Plank Pizza Company Beer Parlor
I started out at this craft beer gastropub as a beertender. Now, I run the resto’s Instagram and Facebook, managing DMs for events, tap takeovers, promos, and weekly specials. In my first year in charge of the Instagram, I doubled our following to 1,531 (it’s now just shy of 4,000), much of which I credit to my facilitating visits and coverage from local influencers and foodie bloggers.
I’ve been published and received awards for multiple pieces ranging from poetry and creative nonfiction to memoir and analytical essay. I have a special passion for spoken word poetry after being the vice president of Spit That!, Ithaca College’s slam poetry club.
